New Pet Portrait

Just finished this new pet portrait. Since it is a small size I had to work with small brushes. Seems more stressful to me... but probably because I like my larger brushes better. I think the colors and pose of the dog turned out well.  View more of my paintings on my website- SpohnStudio.com

Pet portrait revised- made a few changes. Lighting maybe a bit light on this photo, but you can see some of the changes I made to the dog and some value changes.

OK, below is the final version of this pet portrait.

Actually the colors are brighter in person.

Day 6 of the painting challenge. I have been wanting to paint this memorial pet portrait for a while now... and today seemed like a perfect day. I used to go for walks with Suzy and her owner. She was a swell dog. This painting is not for sale.

 Decided to try another dog today. I liked the soft, grays and rust colors in the markings on this dog. And she had really pretty eyes.
