Besides living in a frog pond, the next best place for a frog is in your garden. What a lovely site to see a frog amongst your flowers. This frog has followed the flowers into the house to observe the arrangement in the floral bouquet. Visit my website to purchase this painting. SpohnStudio.com

Birmingham Bouquet - Day 1 of painting challenge

Birmingham Bouquet

6x6 original oil

Today is the first day of my new painting challenge.  I started the day having brunch with friends, then went riding my bike; although the streets still had some snow and ice. The day was moving fast. I made it into the studio in time to paint this new floral. It was inspired by the songs on the radio. A country station, with songs about Birmingham, AL.

Sunflower Bouquet with Butterfly

Sunflower Bouquet with Butterfly

30 x 30 Original Oil

The beautiful black and floral pot on my studio window sill was the inspiration for this painting. Then I found my sunflowers and started to paint. I have been painting this piece for a week, simply because I have been so busy, I could only paint a few hours a day, or not at all. I love this happy, joyful bouquet, and hope you will also. This is the last painting I will attempt to get ready for my upcoming show at the Paquette Gallery. Visit my website for more information.  SpohnStudio.com

Coincidentally, I took several photos of flower pots outside a local gallery 2 years ago. The flowers were beautiful and especially against the gallery's freshly painted mint green bricks. Now I will be doing a showing of my floral pieces with this gallery owner and artist, Steph Brady at the Paquette Gallery in the Salida Steamplant starting on March 24th. Amazing how things come together! This painting will be in our upcoming show. Contact me for price and shipping information. If you live nearby, come by and see the show. All are invited to the reception on Saturday, March 24th from 5 - 7 pm.   Copyright 2012, by the artist, Susan M. Spohn
