My zinnia's are mostly frost bitten now. A few of them struggle onward in these warmer days, so I thought I should paint them quickly. This painting was inspired by a friend of mine in France. How do you paint the mystery and magic of a wolf? I was intrigued by the European black wolves. I added the butterflies to soften the image and leave a trace of stories to be told. I will be explaining more about this painting in an upcoming posting. Stay tuned.

The beautiful black and floral pot on my studio window sill was the inspiration for this painting. Then I found my sunflowers and started to paint.
