Fleur-de-lis Bouquet

 Fleur-de-lis Bouquet

30 x 30  Oil

I have been working on this painting for a while. It was drawn out and ready to paint and then life got in the way... then I started painting it and had to stop and get ready for my art show in Tubac, AZ. Now, finally I have had some time to finish this painting.  Hope you like it! I do. Visit my website to purchase and view my other paintings.  SpohnStudio.com

After the painting started to dry, the background seemed to dry to darkly and after reconsidering my color choices I changed the background color. Here is the newly completed painting below.

Now you will be able to find those previous 'hints'. I think this painting is now finished. I will look at it again with fresh eyes in the morning. Sunflowers self-seed themselves in my front garden and when all the flowers are in bloom, it is really a happy site. There are always birds, butterflies, squirrels and cats in this garden.  Do you have any comments?

More Previews of the upcoming Diptych

Whew, been working too much this week. Hardly any time to paint in the studio. I did get a bit further painting a bit on my new large diptych. Here are some more preview photos... I hope to get in the studio this weekend. Maybe the painting will be finished on Monday!  (or not, ha.ha.)

Sping Blossoms with Goldfinch

Spring Blossoms with Goldfinch

It is Fall and I am painting Spring time paintings, go figure.... Anyway, this is a softly colored reminder of springtime. My guess is that we will need this breath of spring in a couple months when winter has piled snow and ice upon the lands. This painting is for sale for $140.00, contact me to purchase.

Beauty Among the Thistles

Oil  on Board

30 x 30

This is a different look for one of my paintings. And I like to experiment, when I find a subject or scene that really gets my attention. In this instance, there was a hazy, dreamy quality to this scene with a brilliantly colored goldfinch munching on thistle seeds. There is a peaceful and calm presence to this setting, and I hope you will enjoy this moment in time. Comments? This painting is for sale. $700.00 Contact me by e-mail for purchase and more information.

Back to painting again today.... between doctor visits, physical therapy, and some how managing to do an art show up in Denver.... I have been very distracted by other matters. I liked my reference photo for this painting, a bird balancing on the tops of a flowering butterfly bush, the bird in pretty yellows, the bush in vibrant complimentary purples.  This painting is for sale for $85.00 and includes free shipping in the Continental USA.
