I started this painting yesterday and finished it today.  I love the bright and cheery floral bouquet. I used my pallet knife for all of it, and with thoughts of Spring and Easter in the air, I added the little bunny to nibble at some of the flowers. I used to have a pet dwarf bunny years ago. Coincidentally, I took several photos of flower pots outside a local gallery 2 years ago. The flowers were beautiful and especially against the gallery's freshly painted mint green bricks. Now I will be doing a showing of my floral pieces with this gallery owner and artist, Steph Brady at the Paquette Gallery in the Salida Steamplant starting on March 24th. I just love how this small section of a floral garden turned out today. I am moving more towards using the pallet knife in all my paintings and filling them with texture and bright colors. For this painting, I squinted a lot at the photograph to capture just the essence of the colors and flowers. Just had time for another small painting today. I did spend lots of time priming more panels for future paintings, and organizing for an upcoming show at a local gallery. Today's painting incorporates brush and pallet knife techniques. I am always please when folks about town set out pots of flowers, and I think the butterflies appreciate them also!
