5x7 greeting card
original acrylic painting

Dandylions could be flowers, herbs, weeds or lunch! This painting looks a little like a pastel painting, although it is all painted using acrylics. I used bristle brushes mainly with a dry brush technique. You can view more paintings and cards on my website.

Card Bee Balm

Card Bee Balm
5x7 inches, original acrylic painting

Today's card features some bee balm. I used to have a wonderful stand of bee balm where I used to live. I planted them at the end of a drain pipe from a gutter in an enclosed cement bed. They loved it! Bee Balm do not do well in my yard here in Salida, it is too dry and they need lots of moisture. This painting is from some reference photos of my gardens in days gone by. These greeting cards painted on Strathmore's watercolor paper include a white envelope. They are blank inside. Visit my website to purchase these original hand-painted cards.

3 Cards- Daisy Garden, Sunflowers Yellow & Orange, Red Petunia

Card Daisy Garden
5x7 inches, original Acrylic

Trying out new methods using my acrylic paints on these original greeting cards. I am still using my painting knives for the majority of the painting.

 Card Red Petunia
5x7 inches, original Acrylic

I think you can see all the texture in this card. I love how acrylics dry so quickly. Just working quickly on these cards, experimenting and loading them with color.

Card Sunflower Yellow & Orange
5x7 inches, original Acrylic

Light and cheery colors on these sunny sunflowers. Now that I have painted a few of these cards, I can go back to my oils and start to paint some bigger paintings tomorrow. Visit my website to purchase any of these cards.

Card- Alliums

Card - Alliums
5 x 7 inches original acrylic painting

Another card finished today, thick texture painted mainly with a painting knife. To purchase this card or any of the other ones, please visit my website.

Card- Red Tulips

Card Red Tulips
5x7 inches original acrylic

I am painting away with these acrylics to do a series of these greeting cards. Working in acrylics is soooooooooo much faster than painting in oils. Everything dries right away and you can easily make corrections and additions. Of course, the colors dry darker and so it is more difficult to to get the contrasts and tones correct. It is all a learning process. But so far I like working with both oils and acrylics. Visit my website to purchase.

Garden Bunny

Garden Bunny

This painting reminds me of a happy bedtime story. Although when I first started to paint, I was only interested in the flowers in this garden. Somehow, a bunny hopped out of a tunnel deep in the middle of all the leaves.... This painting is for sale for $800.00. Visit my website to purchase.

30 Day Painting Challenge

Here are the results of the 30 day painting challenge. The first collage has 25 of the paintings and the bottom one has the remaining 5 images. They are not in the order I painted them, but randomly chosen to form a collage. Each painting is an original oil painting, 6x6 inches, some are sold already. Many of these paintings are painted in a antipasto manner, using my painting knives applying lots of paint and creating texture.  Visit my website to purchase your favorite piece.
