Gratitude Bouquet

Gratitude Bouquet
18 x 18
Oil on Wood Panel

Earlier this week,  a lost white female hound dog with some small black spots was running loose on our street. She came right up to me and dashed inside our building. She was just shaking and scared! She took refuge in our bathtub and refused to go anywhere else. For some reason she really took a liking to me. I searched and searched for an owner looking for her, but couldn't find one. So my neighbor, helped me bring her to Sunshine Shelter in Poncha Springs. I worried about that dog about this dog all night. Then the next day, the owner showed up at our building with a bouquet of flowers for me for taking such good care of her lost dog.

This is the painting this bouquet has inspired. It is for sale for $325.00, contact me for shipping and payment details.

Flame

Flame
5 x 7
Oil on Wood Panel
There are fires everywhere in Colorado right now. No rain, and the forests and grasslands are tinder dry. So many folks have been evacuated from their homes, and many homes have already burned to the ground. It was difficult to find inspiration today, until I happened upon some photo references of these glaring flame colored flowers.  This painting is for sale for $55.00 and includes free shipping in the Continental USA for the month of June. Contact me for purchase.

Peacock Garden

Peacock Garden
39 x 11 inches
oil on wood panel

I started this painting a couple weeks ago and managed to get all the background flowers painted. Today I was able to paint the 2 peacocks and the yellow swallowtail butterfly along with the foreground yellow flowers. Even though the colorful tails of the peacocks are not in this painting, the Impressionistic garden colors substitute for their feathered rainbow of colors. This painting will be mounted as a wood boxed panel when it dries. $700.00  Contact me if you are interested in purchasing this unique painting.

Falling

Falling
7 x 7 inches
oil on wood panel

Even though it is VERY hot outside and fall seems a long ways off, I my painting today was inspired from photos taken last fall of leaves falling. Being blown by the wind, they dance in the air before gently touching the ground. I used my pallet knife for most of this painting.  Contact me to purchase this painting. $85.00

Coleus Planter

This painting is titled, "Coleus Planter". It is a 7 x7 inch oil on board. The coleus have leaves as pretty as flowers, and the other greenery in this planter really complimented red tones in the leaves. On these hot summer days, it is so nice to sit in the shade and view the coleus. You can purchase this painting for $85.00 which includes shipping in the continental USA.

The Start of a New Painting

Fractured Floral
11 x 39 inches
oil on wood panel
Here is the start of a new oil painting. I have a long ways to go towards completion, but I have most of the flower heads in place and the colorization will go on from here. The background will be all broken strokes of color, thus giving the painting it's title. I will hopefully complete this painting in the next 2 days.
And here is the painting with most things finished. I will be adding some butterflies and other critters after the flowers mainly dry. So it will be a few days before I continue working on this painting.
