Dancing Booby

Dancing Booby
Arcylic (outdoor painting)
16x20

I was drawn to those dancing blue footed boobies again today. Their coloring is so wonderful. They look so serious with their facial expressions and yet, they act kind of goofy and certainly look a bit weird. This is another painting in the Outdoor Series. Guardian Hare

Guardian Hare
(outdoor art)
original acrylic painting

Wow, up soooooooo early this morning I was in the studio painting before 9 AM. Normally, I do not start painting till 11 AM. So here is my first painting today. Yes, I am still enamored with these hares and rabbits. And who can resist them? Soft, furry, quiet vegetarians. Visit my website for more information.  SpohnStudio.com

Alley Poppies

Alley Poppies
(outdoor painting)
Original Acrylic

Another painting in my new outdoor series. These are the small size which are approximately 5.5" x 9". I will have a wire hanging system that will thread through those holes and will post an update when that part of the process is completed. These delightful double orange poppies grow in our alley. Well, technically, they grow by someone's house and into the alley. They do not receive any care, but still manage to bloom profusely year after year.  Check out my website to get more details on this painting.  SpohnStudio.com

Fiona, a second look

Fiona, A Second Look
8x8, original oil

Another version of Fiona, this time she is more simplified and painted mainly using my knives. How to decide? Texture or no? I like this simplified version. She appears timeless, and her eyes look up at the viewer, watching to see what is going on.  For more information on pet portraits, please visit my website: SpohnStudio.com
