Cactus Zinnias

Cactus Zinnias

5.5 x 9 inches

original acrylic indoor/outdoor painting

$65.00

This past summer I had too gorgeous pots of cactus zinnias. I planted them from seed and they grew to 3-4 feet tall in pots that honestly were not large enough for them. I had to brace these pots between heavier ones just to keep the zinnias upright. But they did have such beautiful flowers. This is one of my new indoor/outdoor paintings. You can purchase and view more of them on my other website:  SusanMSpohn.com

In the Heart of the Bouquet

In the Heart of the Bouquet

6x6 inches, original oil painting

Day 2 of the painting challenge, and I am inspired by a bouquet of flowers.  I think we sometimes take flowers for granted. We see them in bouquets so often in grocery stores and now even department stores, the old familiar flower shop is becoming an infrequent site.  Where do you buy your flower bouquets? I love to look at these bouquets up close... smelling the flowers.

This original oil painting is part of a 30 day, 30 paintings painting challenge. It is for sale for $50.00, you can purchase this painting on my website:  SpohnStudio.com

Pink Petunias

Pink Petunias, 6x6, oil $40.00 plus $5.00 shipping

Late this afternoon the winds really started blowing. Most of the items on my rooftop deck went flying and I was scrambling to gather them back together again. One pot of petunias was still in full bloom despite all the cold nights so I brought it indoors into my studio and painted some of the blooms...a final remembrance of this past summer

Didn't want to start my larger painting today, so decided to paint another smaller flamingo. Every reference photo shows the variety of flamingo colors. Some are almost white, while others are almost brick orange-red. Most are a shade of pink, and all have combinations of different shades of colored feathers. Today's flamingo painting is for sale for $125.00, contact me regarding shipping.

Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink

The last flamingo I painted was a big hit with everyone and I have been trying to paint one ever since... but so many other paintings keep coming up. Well late this afternoon, I started this lovely creature. She is shy and demure, but also confident in her pink beauty. She was a paler pink flamingo, my last painting had a more deep orange cast to its feathers. Contact me to purchase this painting.

Jacob's Ladder Garden

Jacob's Ladder Garden

18 x 30

Oil on Board

This wonderful painting was inspired by a photo of Jacob's Ladder,a perennial that is planted in a lot of gardens in these parts. If properly cared for, the flower heads are large and lush and last a long time. I like the bright pinky-red heads of the Jacob's Ladder along with the contrast of the yellow grasses with the blue saliva's in the background. If you would like to adorn your walls with this wonderful garden, please contact me by e-mail, and leave your shipping information. This painting sells for $450.00 and includes shipping in the continental USA. E-mail-- susanmspohn@gmail.com
